Apollo 14 astronaut claims aliens HAVE made contact - but it has been covered up for 60 years
Aliens have contacted humans several times but governments have hidden the truth for 60 years, the sixth man to walk on the moon has claimed. Apollo 14 astronaut Dr Edgar Mitchell, said he was aware of many UFO visits to Earth during his career with NASA but each one was covered up. Dr Mitchell, 77, said during a radio interview that sources at the space agency who had had contact with aliens described the beings as ‘little people who look strange to us.’ He said supposedly real-life ET’s were similar to the traditional image of a small frame, large eyes and head. Chillingly, he claimed our technology is ‘not nearly as sophisticated’ as theirs and “had they been hostile”, he warned ‘we would be been gone by now’. More
LONDON, Aug. 9 (UPI) — Some 150 unidentified flying objects have already been reported to British authorities this year, making 2008 a bumper year for UFO sightings, officials say. Just 135 sightings were reported by police and the Ministry of Defense in 2007 and only 97 in 2006, reported The Daily Telegraph Saturday, which obtained the figures under a Freedom of Information Act request. “Something really bizarre is happening in the skies over the U.K.,” said Malcolm Robinson, founder of the research group Strange Phenomena Investigations. “I’ve been dealing in sightings for 30 years and we currently have something very real which mankind cannot explain.” But British officials were more non-committal, although a spokesman for the Department of Defense insisted they remained open minded. He said as long as sightings presented no threat to British airspace, they were not investigated further.

He had been enjoying the view of gliders from the Sunriver airport outside his office sunday morning when what he calls a ufo appeared out of nowhere. More
Sphere: Related ContentPennsylvania is “flapping.” And Bucks County is apparently the epicenter. “Flaps” is the term a national organization that investigates UFO sightings uses to refer to an abundance of supposed close encounters in an area in a short period of time. The Mutual UFO Network has fielded about 50 UFO reports in the Keystone State in the last two months, and more than two dozen have been in Bucks County, said John Ventre, Pennsylvania and West Virginia director for the Colorado-based nonprofit. Then on Wednesday, a Plumstead woman told township police that she saw a blinking, triangular shaped unidentified flying object hovering above her neighborhood off Stump Road around 9:45 p.m. “We have clusters of people all across the state making reports, but mostly in Bucks County,” said Ventre.
“It’s the largest wave of UFO reports we’ve seen in Pennsylvania since Kecksburg,” he added, referring to the December 1965 incident in which a “fireball-like” object purportedly crashed in the woods of the Westmoreland County community. Ventre was recently in Lower Bucks County interviewing eight people who claim to have witnessed mysterious flying aircraft. A film crew from the Discovery Channel accompanied him to record the interviews, he said. There appear to be two types of craft that have been consistently described by people, said Ventre. One type is a high-flying, bright “star-like” object that zips across the sky with great speed, he said. The other is variously described as a low-flying, six-sided or boomerang-shaped object with multi-color lights — from white and red, to green, blue or orange — that silently moves and hovers somewhat like a helicopter, said Ventre.
The latter type is similar to what Diana Bereck, 47, described seeing in Plumstead above her development, Cabin Run, on Wednesday. Bereck, who says she “absolutely” does not believe in aliens or UFOs, was spooked enough by the craft to report it to police. Bereck said she was driving down Cabin Run Road when her daughter, a passenger, spotted the airborne object hovering at the altitude of a low-flying plane above houses on the other side of the street. Michael Madden, 25, said he watched in disbelief as the disc-shaped object floated above his head before it “zoomed off at incredible speed”. “I work with aircraft and grew up next to Manchester Airport so I know exactly what a plane looks and sounds like. This was definitely not a plane.” Mr Madden’s claim follows a string of recent UFO “sightings”. On June 7 three soldiers said they saw 13 UFOs, which looked like “rotating cubes”, while on night patrol at Tern Hill military barracks near Market Drayton, Shropshire. One, Corporal Mark Proctor, 38, of the 1st Battalion of the Irish Regiment, recorded the sighting on his mobile phone and reported it to Army officers.
That sighting came just two hours before helicopter police officers reported an encounter with a huge craft 80 miles away near Cardiff. They claimed to have given chase to the “flying saucer-shaped” object after it almost collided with their aircraft near the Ministry of Defence base of St Athan. Then Father-of-two David Osborne, 47, videoed 12 orange objects in the night sky above Basingstoke, Hampshire, at 10.40pm on June 28. More

Whether alien activity or natural phenomena, reports of UFOs have flooded in this summer from across the country. Plotted on a map of Britain, the sightings can be seen to stretch from Liverpool to Dover and from Llanelli to Derby. Whatever the explanation, experts agree that the number of suspected flying saucers has hit unusual highs this summer. Malcolm Robinson, who studies the phenomenon, said: “Something very bizarre is happening in the skies over the UK.” The founder member of Strange Phenomena Investigations, added: “There has been an unusual number of sightings recently.
“Some experts believe it could be linked to global warming and craft from outer space are appearing because they are concerned about what man is doing to this planet.” Among mysterious flying objects spotted in recent months was a ‘glowing’ disc spotted above the M5 motorway. Royal Navy aircraft engineer Michael Madden said he watched the UFO for three minutes before it ‘zoomed off’ near Weston-super-Mare in Somerset. Earlier, in Basingstoke, witnesses claimed to have seen a fleet of 12 orange objects in the night sky for half an hour.
And in St Athan in the Vale of Glamorgan a police helicopter crew gave chase to another UFO after it appeared to veer at speed towards their aircraft. One UFO spotter however was left red-faced after his report of a mysterious flying saucer in South Wales turned out to be nothing more other-worldly than the moon. See Map

In the latest UFO riddle to grip Britain, witnesses say the “alien” fleet hovered above the Hampshire town for half an hour – changing formation before their eyes. Dad-of-two David Osborne, 47 – who captured the unearthly phenomenon on video – said yesterday: “My adrenaline was pumping and I was trembling all over. “I’ve never seen anything like it. It was amazing.” David, an amateur astronomer, yelled to his daughters to grab his camera after he phoned nearby RAF Odiham and was told officials could not comment “for security reasons”. More

London, June 27 : A doctor of psychology at Cardiff University claimed that he witnessed a UFO over the Brecon Beacons - the third reported sighting in Britain, following observations by the Army and police. Dr Simon Griffey and his son Jack were driving near Llangynidr Mountain in the Brecon Beacons, Powys, when they spotted lights over Talybont-on-Usk. “I’ve had loads of theories proposed by friends and neighbours but none of them add up,” The Sun quoted him, as saying. “There was no noise whatsoever, it was a bit eerie. I’ve driven over this mountain for 17 years and have never seen anything like it.
“There were seven lights and having read the description from the soldiers in Shropshire, there are some similarities. They were the same sort of colour and the same spherical shape that they reported. “I know I wasn’t seeing things because Jack saw exactly the same as I did - and two other cars pulled over to look,” they added. Sceptics have suggested the sightings could be huge man-made lanterns floating into the sky. However, the boffin, of Llangynidr, said: “It was too big. It was way above the horizon and stayed there for 15 minutes. It was a bit smaller than a full moon - quite big and high up.”
Jack recorded the phenomenon on his mobile phone - but when they examined the pictures later, they found only three of the seven lights showed up. Griffey said: “The police helicopter crew said they failed to record the sighting on their equipment. “If it had been a natural phenomenon you surely would have been able to photograph all of it. I’d like someone to explain - because I have no idea what to make of it.” “There is no logical explanation. I think it’s plausible that there could be life on other planets,” he added.

Recently released footage: Welsh police confirmed that one of their helicopter crews had spotted an “unusual aircraft” flying over Cardiff earlier this month. An investigation into the sighting had been launched, they said. The police clarification came after tabloid newspaper The Sun reported a UFO had “attacked” a police helicopter, following it for several miles over the Bristol Channel.
“The pilot banked sharply to avoid being hit, then launched into a high-speed pursuit. But he was forced to give up the chase as the helicopter’s fuel ran low — and the UFO escaped,” the tabloid reported. The helicopter crew had described the object as “flying saucer-shaped and circled by flashing lights,” it added. That description was rather more dramatic than the official police version, which said: “South Wales Police can confirm its air support unit sighted an unusual aircraft.
“This was reported to the relevant authorities for their investigation,” they added in a brief statement, avoiding the use of the term “UFO”, or Unidentified Flying Object. At the time of the incident, the helicopter with three men on board was waiting to land at the St Athan RAF base near Cardiff. The sighting reportedly took place at 00:40 am (23:40 GMT) on June 8. South Wales Police denied there was a pursuit and indicated that the helicopter crew was never in any danger. A Ministry of Defence spokesman said it had heard nothing about the incident. “But it is certainly not advisable for police helicopters to go chasing what they think are UFOs,” he added.

A soldier has reported seeing 13 unidentified flying objects in the sky while out on night patrol. Corporal Mark Proctor was one of three soldiers who saw the objects above his military barracks. He filmed the sighting, at Tern Hill barracks near Market Drayton, Shropshire, on his mobile phone and reported the sighting to Army officials. Cpl Proctor, 38, of the 1st Battalion of the Irish Regiment, saw the “craft” which he described as “rotating cubes” in the sky, just after 11pm on Saturday, June 7.
“I was on duty in the guard room when the other boys outside began shouting. I went out to see what the commotion was about and could see thirteen craft in the skies,” he said. “They were zig-zagging, but I filmed two before they disappeared. They were like rotating cubes with multiple colours. “I made a full report to my commanding officers and gave them my footage. The other lads were as amazed by it as I was.” A 19-year-old private on patrol also saw the “fleet”. More

A Liverpool man claims to have seen several UFOs hovering in the sky around the city and filmed them on his phone. Vince Pybis said he saw a light above the bushes in Sefton Park and got his phone to film it, by which time six more had appeared. Callers into BBC Radio Merseyside’s also said they saw the lights in the Knotty Ash and Prescot areas.
Merseyside Police said they were not worried and no-one called the control room about the sightings. But Mr Pybis said: “I’m a sceptic, I didn’t believe in UFOs. But until you’ve actually seen one - well I saw seven - then I thought, they are out there.” Last month declassified government files revealed a letter sent to a secret agent from a man in Wirral claiming he had been in physical and psychic contact with an extra terrestrial called Algar. He wrote: “I have had a relationship with Algar since 1958 and it continued until 1981 when he was killed by another race of beings.” Sceptics suggest aircraft or unusual weather phenomenon could be behind the sightings. Sphere: Related ContentSource: CARDIFF, Wales, June 20 (UPI) — A police helicopter chased a UFO after it nearly collided with the aircraft while it was preparing to land near Cardiff, Wales, a source said. A source familiar with the incident said the three men on board the helicopter reported seeing a “flying saucer-shaped” object encircled by lights speeding toward them as they prepared to land, The Sun reported Friday.
“It closed in at great speed, aiming straight at the helicopter,” the source said. “The chopper had to swerve sharply to avoid being hit. The guys said if they’d stayed where they were, they’d be dead — it would’ve been a direct hit. They are convinced it was a UFO. It sounds far-fetched, but they know what they saw,” the source said. “They belted across the Bristol Channel in pursuit, but it was too quick. They got to the North Devon coast and had to turn back because they were running low on fuel.”

To suggest that Northeast Ohio could be witness to the next mass UFO sighting does not officially make you a member of the tin-foil hat crowd. If you believe even just a few of the witnesses, Cleveland and its surrounding communities might already be a hotspot.
During the previous two years, the Cleveland UFOlogy Project, considered the oldest of its kind on this side of the globe, has documented 20 credible sightings. The 2005 documentary Dan Akroyd: Unplugged on UFOs highlighted the peculiar lights over Lake Erie near Eastlake, where witnesses reported their latest sighting just this past June. Earlier this year, an “orb” was videotaped over the Key Bank Tower during a peace rally, and the incident made it on the CBS nightly news. More

Stephenville UFO incidents explored in detail
Steve Hammons
American Chronicle
According to a May 19 Associated Press article by Angela K. Brown, an investigation of the Stephenville and Erath County, Texas, UFO sightings has concluded that “most of the 300 reported sightings … earlier this year were probably planets, cloud formations or stars.”
The investigation the AP article referred to was that of the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON). Kenneth Cherry, MUFON’S Texas director, told the AP that although his investigators concluded that many witnesses saw planets and cloud formations, other reports by very credible observers were more difficult to explain. “Hard-core” evidence included nearly identical descriptions by three area peace officers. Cherry said, “The bottom line is: We really do believe something did occur down there. That doesn’t mean we know what it was, who it belongs to or where it came from.” Read more
